Politics or Poli-tricks?
Whether it be masjid politics or government politics, lets be real, we all want to elect the most fit individuals to run the show. This year inshallah i will vote for the next president of the United States of America, will i vote of obama, osama yo mama i don’t know, I think John Edwards is a cool dude, he has a spiritual side.
Whats interesting is that last year i had the mentality that one vote dose not count, haha, but i had to chill out and rethink this over because reality shows that choosing a president is real serious business. As Muslims we should want the best for this country in its social, political, and economic aspects.
Some people i come across often say we can’t vote as Muslims because their is no Muslim running for president or because of system we live in. Thats so stupid, well look at what happened to our country with our recent president, wouldn’t you want the best for yourself and your family, don’t you want to strive for a better society on an individual and collective level.
I don’t have a P.H.D or anything, but i’m a born citizen, not that it really matters anymore, hehe, but point is i have no intention of going overseas. I was born here and inshallah i want to live the rest of my life here, get a degree, open up a halal business, get some zabiha dollars and make moves like illegal immigrants, not really but meaning make positive adjustments in life with a modest wife.
Well some people say get your degree and go back to Pakistan since thats where your essentially from, sorry, Pakistan and busharaff i mean musharraf :), is upside down right now and i feel like living as a muslim in the west is great and we should remember Allah swt put us here for a reason and we must maximize our resources and time to the fullest potential and implement the Quran and Sunnah and very much be productive members of society.
Who will you vote for? I have some more research to do, but what we must remember is that our Beloved Prophet Muhammad said “How you are so are the people put over you”, and God Almighty (Allah) says in the Holy Quran says ” God does change people until they change the conditions of themselves”.
So ask yourself what are you doing to establish a better country, obviously this life isn’t supposed to be a utopia but as Shaykh Hamza Yusuf Hanson Al- Maliki says ” this life isnt suppose to be a heaven, if enough of you work together righteously you can enhance society, you can’t perfect it” so prioritize Islam in your life and get education, because the two biggest problems in the world are Hunger and Ignorance.
Wasalaam Yo…inshallah next time i will talk about the elections more deep, not really, ha, but who will you vote for? and what do you think about the presidential race?
And another thing i wanted to mention, how often do we make supplication (dua) to God (Allah) to make this country better and guide the leaders….we should, you have no excuse not to, Allah loves when we make dua, its a direct connection to the believer and God, so make dua that our next president is most fit to run this country and Inshallah improves the quality of life everyone, citizens and immigrants…….
and oh yea Jazakullah for everyone leaving comments and sending emails showing love recently…my dua’s are with you!
