Making the Best Muslim Blog

Salam,

Muslim blog

Now I want to just quickly say my suggestions and insights aren’t just for Muslims, they can be helpful God willing to Non Muslim bloggers also. Most of my readers are Muslim, so I figured I write my title geared towards that specific crowd. Thank You, want some halal meat? Okay let me start.

With the spark of 50 million Islamic blogs, all Mash’Allah trying to give daw’ah and I guess brand themselves. I wanted to talk a little about blogging and how to make a good blog and discuss my views on certain blogs which I have come across.

I have to say their are few blogs which I really like due to the fact they consistently bring out quality content as well as developed a decent fan base.

Running a blog is no joke, ask any blogger who is serious about his or her blog. They will tell you how much time they put into it, it’s practically a job that pays off with halal bucks :). IF you manage to make it that far. If you don’t get the money, at least you tried to help people change for the better. Most Muslim bloggers i have seen so far use WordPress or Blogger…we all know WordPress is the best =). Right, Right?

One thing which helps me write more is support from emails which I get from different people around the country and the world. It motivates me alot and what I learned from experience is you can do anything you set your mind to. If you feel you have some talent or skills then i think you should use it for halal purposes and you will see a successful outcome insh’Allah.

One of my hobbies is analyzing different types of blogs, I like seeing blogs develop as well as fulfill their purpose.

As a business major, hoping insh’Allah. to be an honest businessman one day, I love thinking of new ideas to write about or just in general of ideas that can go far.

A philosophy in business tells us that “an idea is no good unless it is put into practice”. So if you think of something, put it into practice!

Now my site is definitely a blog, but I think i just want to keep coming out with articles to help the youth. As you might know the purpose of my site is help those who are in trouble by sin’s, in addition helping humans develop the Chill Yo Islam Yo mentality. Which essentially develops a  a God consciousness to say no to smoking drugs, drinking alcohol, staying away from fornication, etc.

Now running a site just for Muslims isn’t that easy, because you have begun to market just to a particular audience but on the other hand if one has the ability to write a certain way, connect with individuals on a certain level, bring up issues and story’s that are appealing then perhaps you can develop into that site you wish to become.

Nowadays if want to make money you can use Google Adsense which everyone loves. I use it also as you may have seen, my tip to all of you is make sure you filter out the haram advertisements, i wrote an article on that Here. In addition to adsense their are many other options such as Widgetbucks, Text Link Ad’s, Chitika. Where you place your ad’s is another challenge, what color should you make your ad’s, does it go with your theme? Just some stuff you should think about before jumping ahead of yourself. Trust me, I keep learning from my mistakes.

Some blogs which I visit often are Mujahideen Ryder (now ibnpercy.com), Azeem Khan (no longer active), Hahmed (no longer active), Maniac Muslim, Muslim Matters. Some of them have stopped blogging, however others have re-branded and continued to grow due to persistent effort, dedicated, and most importantly having a passion for blogging. Without that burning passion, you can’t really go too far.

Developing a successful blog means you consistently or at certain intervals through the year create compelling content or articles which differentiate you from other sites. Their are many aspects which In’sh Allah I will discuss later on but some things to keep in mind is quality, consistency, and trust in Allah.

One thing which I have seen over time is People who start blogging but die out quick, No! you must put in time and work to be successful. Overall what I am basically trying to say is I believe we all can improve the image of Islam if we write educated posts with the intention of bringing about positive changes insh’Allah.. Everyone is starting to listen to us, people are reading, the internet is amazing, let’s use it for our advantage.

Alright so that wraps it up, insh’Allah. I will write more about this later on, this was just literally scratching the surface, I want to continue to help people write and make their blogs better as well as mine.
