How to Talk to Non Muslim Visitors on Muslim Blogs
Salam yo,
I’m disappointing I actually had to write a post about this topic but I’m starting to see a trend emerge from the attitude some Muslims give to Non Muslim visitors on Muslim blogs, I’ve noticed this first hand just observing dialogue on my blog.
Now what it needs to be addressed is the behavior of some ignorant Muslims, not “all” but “some”, just to make things clear. Their are definitely ignorant Non Muslims who come and hate also, but we’re the ones who are supposed to be setting the positive example, right? right?
The easiest thing to do in life is to get angry, let’s face it but whenever we get filled with anger we have the potential to change not only ourselves for the better but how we represent Islam. For every action there is a reaction.
No doubt words and speech are powerful, in a hadith narrated by Abdullah bin Umar ” Two men came from the East and addressed the people who wondered at their eloquent speeches, on that the messenger of Allah said “Indeed, in eloquent speech there is magic”.
So speech has two faces, you can use it for negative or positive purposes.
Now if your a Muslim and you like commenting on blogs in general, just be aware of some things:
- The first thing a person judges you by is your manners. More specifically your manners in talking, not by what you claim to be or religion you represent.
- Alot of times a Non Muslim will come to a Muslim blog and try to seek some knowledge just about the existence of God or post a challenging question, it may be controversial.
- Now if you automatically assume the person hates Islam, then your obviously going to get heated up, but remember this is your chance to win people over to your side
- Give proof and be intelligent! Don’t get all emotional and pissed off, this will prevent you from concentrating and speaking with wisdom.
I’m going to point out two ayahs from the Qur’an, insh’Allah we can all reflect upon these verses.
“And be moderate in thy pace, and lower thy voice; for the harshest of sounds without doubt is the braying of the ass.” (Surah Luqman 31:19)
“Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knows best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.” (An-Nahl: 12)
There you have it, spread the knowledge =).
Note: If your a hater and your coming to Muslim blogs with the intention to cause problems, especially if you aren’t open minded to educational and productive discussions then please just bounce.
