ABOUT SAAD

Peace be with you all, My name is Saad Ahmad Rashad .

Well my friends added rashad at the end, in-case you haven’t noticed the whole name rhymes. I’m a Muslim brother from another mother who grew up in Brooklyn and has come across many experiences, and I thought maybe you Muslims and Non-Muslims would be interested in reading about my random views and topics.

I try my best to talk about issues which I feel need to be reflected upon to reform oneself, a reminder to myself first.

A little bit about me:

I’m currently 24 years old. I graduated in 2011 from Brooklyn college with a degree in business and marketing. I do plan on pursuing an M.B.A eventually.

Currently I’m in the Entrepreneur mode working on an advertising company I co-founded called Muslim Ad Network and concurrently building out the Chill Yo Islam Yo website + soon to come clothing line insha’Allah.  And ultimately, I want to continue studying the official teachings of Islam.

As you may have noticed, I really love business and it motivates me even more that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S) was a successful businessman due to his honesty and ability to build solid relationships.

What is Chillyoislamyo.com?

The chill yo islam yo blog was started in late 2007 and alhumdulilah it’s still going. Before I used to be able to write articles very frequently, now it’s slowed down but it’s still active. I’m trying to evolve it by adding more writers to the chill yo islam yo team and that will allow for different perspectives and experiences to be shared insha’Allah so stay tuned!

The goal of chill yo islam yo is simple: If enough of us change we can perhaps change the world. I will try my best to put my thoughts and insights in a clear perspective driven by educated purposes so you and I can make positive moves in life.

We have a new generation of Youth coming and my goal is to help them not make the same mistakes I made, and more specifically the generation before.

Don’t worry my articles are clean like halal meat, there isn’t any attempt at trying to twist up the truth over here. Yes this is official tissue like a refugee whistle.

Why did I make this website?

In addition to what I’ve already mentioned. I just want to add some more points.  (God Willing) my goal is to give people a better understanding of Islam by presenting it in a clean, and practical way.

Most of main articles as you’ll see in the “Real Halal Talk” section are geared towards personal development. From a demographics perspective, the target audience of my content are mostly Young Muslims from the west, but of course anyone can gain benefit if Allah wills it for them.

One of the main problems in the world is ignorance. As a writer, I feel I need to address certain issues that are often ignored or not presented in a appealing way to the Youth, who in fact have a attention span of 20 minutes! I hope to establish a need for them to visit this website, and entertain them without sacrificing my principles and ethical beliefs.

Meaning permissible to Islamic rules and give them the bridge them to the ideology of “chill yo Islam yo”, meaning if you come across anything ha’raam (evil, impermissible, forbidden) – not permissible in Islam, that ruins your moment, just say “Chill Yo Islam Yo”, and keep it moving like a smooth Muslim. ( Props to my boy Harris for the idea)

So now it’s time to write articles targeted towards those who are in need of spiritual and mental development. Closing remarks, hold strong to your faith and remember Allah (God Almighty). Be real with yourself, and most importantly choose your companions wisely, and be a leader. This isn’t no tom cruise movie, I believe in my mission, its not impossible, don’t get it twisted.

This is an answer for those brothers who miraculously happen to find out BEFORE they even know me or meet me that i drive a Mister Softee truck and ask me this question with the utmost eye glowing amazement, leg shaking excitement and hair pulling curiousity …How does it feel to be Mr Softee??

well for all you anonymous fans ..here's the answer:

So im drivin my Mr Softee truck on a Saturday afternoon and I slow down for this man who’s waving for ice-cream …but as I get closer and stop the truck im dazed and amazed to find this ridiculously dressed guy even tho it isn't halloween yet but anyhow he happens to be a real live pirate and suddenly i have a feeling he hadn't stopped me for ice cream …but C'MON a pirate in Brooklyn?!!?!? ..ehh what the hell, a customer is a customer so I open the window ..unfortunately I noticed that this pirate had a miniature pirate ship steering wheel sticking out of his fly but nonetheless I asked him hey pirate you have cash?? ..so the pirate says Aaaarrr I left me Louis Vuitton wallet back on me ship …but I be carryin me this measly bag of gold …so I told him listen captain, the cone costs two bags of gold but since you seem like a cool cat ill let u slide this time (oh yea ..and after that day I took a permanent vacation) ..anyway so I asked him What can I get ya? ..the pirate motioned his hook at the picture and said Aaaarrrrr gimmi a swirled cone with them sprinkles and a waffle cone for me parrot!! …I said no problem captain but YOU DO know that you have a little steering wheel sticking out of yur fly right?? …the pirate laughed aarrr arrrr aarrr arrrrr and said ..this be a wheel boy which steers me nuts for the rated Aaaarrrr action with me mermaids!!

    ….well, there you have it

anyway next time we meet we can have a NON-ICECREAM related conversation inshAllah =)

Asslamualykum brother just wanted to let you know about a new islamic children show released from london so here goes…

"The Misri Bunch" are a group of friends who help each other to learn about Allah, Islam and good morals. Series one concentrates on teaching the young viewers about the Creator (Allah All Mighty). The gang go through exciting stories which helps to explain who The Creator (Allah or God as referred by some) is, by going through His different names and attributes. By knowing Allah you will worship Him in the manner He deserves rather than worshiping false deities. This series was brought to you by Qadimoon Kids – Media dedicated to the Ummah. please visit http://www.misribunch.com for more info
