Salam,
Although Kentucky Fried Chicken officially said some of their outlets in London have introduced a Halal Menu, there seems to be some uncertainty. Read the last post here
According to the brother who commented on this post, the menu isn’t halal according to standards by the Halal Monitoring Committee.
I don’t live in London so I don’t know how legit this is, but anyone who cares should look into this.
Their seems to be a big difference in the methods of slaughtering according to HMC and HFA.
According to HMC, HFA doesn’t follow Islamic guidelines. That’s weird because on the HFA company website, they state they are strictly halal and follow Islamic guidelines, read here
So what’s the deal? Do your research, drop your feedback insh’Allah.

This all revolves around whether stunning prior to slaughter is permissible or not. HFA allow stunning HMC don't. I think it boils down to personal choice, some ulama allow stunning some don't. All factory produced meat in Malaysia is stunned and the ulama there accept it. The problem is with the volume of meat we consume, we just can't produce that much meat without resorting to some form of restraint to keep up with the volume.
Salam, it's not just about stunning, its about machine slaughter also… there is no real guarantee that the animal dies when being stunned or if the machine cuts the correct part on the conveyor belt. Then we have the issue of how can a Muslim stand below and keep up with the machine in saying the prayer for every chicken that goes by. What if he has to go toilet, or pauses for a second, will the whole process stop for him… I dont think so, so how can every animal be blessed when they are rolling out at possibly 30 to 60 each minute (i dont know exactly how many).
anyway a clear fatwa explaining thing in more detail has been given here: http://www.gmwa.org.uk/foodguide2/index.php?page=…
salaam brothers, im from the uk and have been racking my brains researching whether kfc is actually halal, and the HFA are correct to certify them. coz if theyr promoting halal meat that isnt really halal, a lot of muslims will be mislead by this. the method they'r using is mechanical slaughter, where they stun the chicken first, then slaughter whilst there is a recorded prayer on loop for every chicken. personally i dont think its right to certify kfc as the slaughter method should be done manually without any stun method. as when you stun the chicken you risk whether all of the blood is drained from the animal.
Asalaamualaikum,
Actually Malaysia has taken machine slaughter out of accepted slaughter practice. Quite simply the HFA who are not a registered charity (HMC are) are a moneymaking company that have sold their conscience for cash. Forget the issue of stunning because it is not required by law and therefore isn't needed. Concentrate on the method of slaughter. In machine slaughter the slaughterer is the machine not the Muslim stood Next to to it reciting. The slaughtered must recite the tasmiyah if the machine kills the animal as an automated process the meat is carrion and Haraam.
Thing is just to change our eating habit, not to fight over this,if there is some doubt just leave it.Because KFC is not the only option we have.
