Salam hater,Wasalaam hater. (Hi hater, bye hater)

Salam Yo,

If your looking at the title of this blog post and your lost, it actually comes from a modern phrase in Brooklyn also known as ” Hi hater, bye hater”. However, since this is the official Muslim blog, I had to switch it up to fit better. Enough said, let me get straight to the point,  I don’t understand why some people gotta hate or don’t ever congratulate.

In-case you don’t live in the streets and this sounds like a foreign concept to you, let me give you the definition based on my experience and research. Where else to define it accurately than Urban Dictionary

A person who feels anger and/ or jealousy for someone who has succeeded in something they have worked hard for.

A being who speaks badly, and or takes negative actions in attempt to create problems for a successful person.

I mean to be fair, why hate on someone if they haven’t hated on you? Where’s the mercy brother?

See nothing comes easy in life for most people, some are blessed and inherit it, but for the most part everyone goes through struggles and this is the nature of trying to live comfortably. It’s very easy to look at someone and since they are well off automatically be jealous, but why can’t we be open minded and want for them what we would want for ourselves.

What’s interesting is how you can draw parallels from street culture to Islam. Though we feel like strangers alot of times, I believe it’s because we haven’t shown people how we embody the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah and take what’s beneficial from our environment and show where Islam comes in. Like they say in the hood ” you are a product of your environment”. This applys to you as a muslim to some degree, then it’s religious elements that come into play.

Going back to the idea of “haters” and what that stems out to in the streets, it sort of reminds me of Surah Falaq. This surah is a protection against black magic, jealousy, envy and the EVIL EYE. From who? to me it’s from the “hater” and “haters”. Let’s look at the chapter in the Quran real quickly.

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

Say: ” I seek refuge with (Allah) the lord of the daybreak, from the evil of what he has created, and from the evil of the darkening night as it comes with its darkness (or the moon as it sets or goes away). And from the evil of the witch crafts when they blow into their knots, and from the evil of the envier when he envies“.

If your a hater, here are some tips.

1) Next time you see a brother or sister doing well financially, physically, mentally, say Mash’Allah.

2) If your jealous, just tell yourself that Insh’Allah you can get be in their comfort one day.

3) Hustle hard, the halal way. They did also.

4) Memorize Surah Falaq and recite it often.

5) Don’t let shatan disease your heart by telling you ” oh he or she is trying to show off, or put you down because your broke and the person which shatan is making you hate on isn’t, if he does, go spend attend a purification of  the heart program and wash your heart, bleach it.

Alright so that wraps it up, sorry for being slow on articles. I’ve been on vacaction and have some ideas finally. This is a topic which I wanted to talk about because it seems like gossip is so widespread these days and people love to hate. Control your mouth and your heart, you will be good inshallah.
