    do you know what happened on the day of ashura and why it is so important to fast? on the day of ASHURA, IMAM HUSSEIN the grandson of the prophet muhammed (saww) was slaughtered? Do you know that on the day of ASHURA the grand daughters of the prophet (saww) were taken as prisoners of war, and that they were tortured and that their head scarves were taken off ? Muhammad al Baqir, the grandson of the prophet (saww) says "This is a day of rejoice and celebration for banu ummaya, and the son of she who ate the liver (of hamza (AS) (the uncle of the prophet)"
